DOCTRINAL STATEMENT

WE BELIEVE the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments to be verbally inspired by God and inerrant in the original writings, and that they are of supreme and final authority in faith and life. (II Timothy 3:16; II Peter 1:19 21)

WE BELIEVE in one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
(John 16:12-15; Matthew 28:19)

WE BELIEVE that Jesus Christ was begotten by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, and is true God and true man.
(Romans 1:3-4; Matthew 1:18 23; Luke 1:26-35; Philippians 2:6-8)

WE BELIEVE that man was created in the image of God, that he sinned, and thereby incurred not only physical death, but also spiritual death which is separation from God; that all human beings are born with a sinful nature, and that those who reach moral responsibility become sinners in thought, word and deed.
(Romans 1:18-32; Romans 3:9-23)

Capitol City Baptist Church (CCBC)

In the beginning...

In 1958, Rev. James Cook and Rev. Bruce Kerr led a Bible study in the home of the Prudencio family at Philamlife Homes, Quezon City. The group grew both spiritually and numerically until they decided to hold worship services. This Bible study became the core of Capitol City Baptist Church (CCBC). They rented Storefront no. 18, one of the stalls in the commercial center in Philamlife Homes. Rev. Cook would be the Pastor.

July 2, 1959 marked a milestone in the history of CCBC. The 23 charter members held its first official meeting. They approved four business items: 1) Capitol City Baptist Church as the name of the church; 2) the church constitution; 3) election of four deacons, church treasurer, and church clerk; 4) appointment of a missionary for Bago Bantay with a monthly honorarium of P20.
